Talk and Tales from Coco, Optimist in Charge at The Shiny Butter Blog
Dare to feel good!
Shiny greetings, Reader,
Just as it's important that we keep our brain from rusting shut, it's important to keep our body from doing the same.
The problem is, keeping our body oiled can feel like a chore. Big ugh. No one needs another thing we have to do.
I have a better idea.
You see, our body feels like it's rusting because it basically is at some point—we don't move as much as we did when we were younger. We sit still more and for longer.
But it's very simple to move a little...
And a little more moving is a million times better than not moving much at all
This isn't me telling you that you have to exercise, though.
This is me telling you to be a whole body...
That's because we treat our body like it's nothing more than a complicated, increasingly troublesome, oversized carrier for our busy, very important brain.
But we're a whole package deal, not assorted parts. And certainly not a brain accompanied by inferior parts.
So try this little warm-up in the early part of your day.
It's simply a gentle waking-the-body sort of thing instead of just dashing into the day.
This is also nice in the afternoon when you either want tea and a scone like the English, or something from a vending machine when you don't feel like you're going to make it seven more hours.
This takes about five minutes—and it comes with a guarantee:
I guarantee that no matter your level of fitness, you'll feel a little less rusted shut, if not altogether refreshed. Yes, in just five minutes.
Vary this as you want to and need to.
After all, you're the one living all the day long in your body, so you know what needs ultra-gentle treatment and what needs a little more of this or that.
Also, of course, you know what parts have had injuries or surgery, or just feel especially achy, or don't move at all any more, so honor all this by not doing what clearly isn't a good fit for your body.
All we really need in order to stay oiled and not rust shut—body, mind, and soul, is to keep moving—body, mind, and soul.
So simple and easy, yet huge!

Step into your body for the day rather than just carrying it along.
I don't use AI for writing. My aim in all my writing is to be as real, human, and fully alive as possible—and to share my very real, human, fully alive experience with my readers.
I love me some shiny things, but with all of AI's promises and assurances, I still choose the slow, hands-on, manual, analog, self-reliant, old-school, defiantly non-plagiarized path of writing—without asking any form of AI for ideas, inspiration, help, or even proofreading and grammar correction (because I've discovered it's not as good or "intuitive" as it claims to be at those, either).
